Water is Our Most Precious Resource
Having enough water to support our growth has been a concern for years. This year is especially dire. We are in the worst drought in Utah’s recorded history.
We need to reduce the amount of water that goes to residential and commercial landscaping. I support the recently updated landscaping ordinance that the council passed and want to continue to revise city code to reflect the desert climate we live in. I think it is also time to consider offering financial incentives in the form of rebates or bill credits for converting to home fixtures and landscaping that use less water. Many other municipalities and water conservancy districts have already done this.
